SIFMA hires Europe and Asia director By Riva Froymovich March 1, 2007 Karsten Moller has been appointed senior managing director and head of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association in London and Asia, the group announced today. Mr. Moller joins New York and Washington-based SIFMA after 15 years at New York-based Goldman Sachs & Co., most recently as a London-based co-head of the capital structure group in investment banking. SIFMA supports proportional voting By Dan Jamieson March 2, 2007 The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association of New York and Washington is encouraging its members to vote customer proxies in line with votes from other shareholders, according to a Dow Jones report today. The practice is known as proportional voting. Currently, Wall Street firms typically vote proxies in line with company recommendations under an NYSE rule that allows brokers to vote the shares of customers who don't return proxies.
