----------------------- Dunno. But the overall tone of the letter wasn't my style. How so? ---------------------------- I think that hyperbole makes us look like nutjobs. When you toss out numbers like thousands of companies have been destroyed, that's super. But name them. Name a hundred. Name fifty. My style is more to try to cite historical precedent, and point out the similarities. Or to be very, very specific about framing my statements. Take the NCANS letter. It is very specific. It doesn't go into a lot of fist waving or gnashing of teeth, or sweeping statements. It stays to the facts, such as they are. I think we as a movement need to focus on precision, and care, in our communications. Again, it's not my style. Everyone's a critic...

I agree with your style and the idea of being very speific in your criticism.

Bob, please feel free to share any thoughts you may have at the moment, or in closing, that we did not ask about. ---------------------- You guys asked great questions. This is a journey for many of us, and a very expensive one for many of us as well. We need to each become a bit of a Patrick or an O'Brien, and ask ourselves, "What have I done, TODAY, to make a difference in this issue?" I am a huge believer in individual effort, and accountability. Nobody knows which letter, or which posting, is going to catch the eye of the next Patrick, or Liz Moyer, or Terri from Phoenix. But I do know that every one of us has something to contribute, and we are each of us part of the problem or part of the solution. One guy makes it a point to go to 5 blogs every day and post a comment which includes the url of TheSanityCheck.com. Another writes one letter a day and spends the 40 cents to mail it. I don't know who is going to be in the right place at the right time, but it is probably like fishing. The more lines in the water, the greater the likelihood of a bite. I hope this has answered your questions thoroughly. This is a real threat to the stability of the markets, and to the retirement savings of America. My personal feeling is that if it isn’t fixed quickly, most would be best advised getting out of the markets, and putting their cash into gold, or real estate - as I said earlier. Seriously. My hunch is that the dollar is going to fall at some point over the next few years, and I would want to be in items that adjust up for the devaluation, and stand a shot at appreciating. The market as it operates now is not safe. It’s a hunting ground for predators, and we are their food. The cops are asleep at the wheel or on the take. Either our elected officials – the honest ones, like Specter – get a special prosecutor to fix the SEC, or we can kiss our retirement aspirations good bye. Sorry to paint such an ugly picture but I’d be lying if I sugar coated it. Thanks for having me, and stop in at TheSanityCheck.com to hear more of my sunny optimism and fun takes on the market’s efficient operations, along with Bud Burrell, Mark Faulk, Dave Patch, Jim DeCosta, and a revolving cast of commentators. And remember - we've come a long, long way in just a few years. These guys have been at it for many decades. The S&L scandal took 8 years to break. This will go ballistic in less than half that time. Knowledge is power. Really. Not a cliche. Arm yourself with it, and get your friends and acquaintences up to speed. Or they can all plan a retirement at McDees flipping burgers. That's the choice as I see it. Take care all, and Godspeed.

I know there are a lot of good, decent people that are involved in this site and others, and my hope is to spread some info, and get everyone motivated to take a swing at Goliath. My time is very thin, so I don't know when I'll be back, but you can always find me over at TheSanityCheck. I try to write a blog every day or two. So Hot Lips, Kranker, the rest of the gang, nice being here. Hope this helps de-mystify some of this garbage. Ciao all.

Whenever members have had time to read this, I think it belongs in the Hall of Fame....and the Reform Center. Is that possible?

Here is the most confusing question that I can come up with, not for O'Brien, but for die-hard CMKX'ers.
Here it is:
The top levels of government are obviously so corrupt, that they do not give a wit about nss, or they would not have allowed SHO to be gutted. So why would the same government care enough to mount an elaborate and courageous 'sting' operation for little ol' CMKX?

thunkerdrone -
A guess .. because at the bottom of every rat hole full of stolen loot .. is a version of the mafia .. the DOJ etc. are still after stinging low caste criminals .. why? .. so the wealthy Wall Streeters can share that money too!
After hearing Bob O'Brien, I can see more clearly.
THE ONLY gambit to WIN is THE PEOPLE - ON ONE SINGLE PETITION .. the baby has been delivered, we only need Feeders into the petition - anyone want to say something about this? 2,079 have signed so far, A hundred thousand will get us started with the media ....
